OREANDA-NEWS The Chelyabinsk Regional Court has begun considering the criminal case of 28-year-old unemployed Henrikh Uzyallo, accused of committing sabotage on the railway.
According to investigators, on the night of June 12, 2023, he burned relay cabinets with equipment on the stretch between Churilovo and Smolino, which disabled the automation. As a result of the sabotage, train traffic was suspended, and the carrier suffered losses. Two days later, the man tried to commit a second arson, but he failed.
The state prosecution believes that Uzyallo committed arson because of disagreement with the conduct of a special military operation. On June 6, the customer of the sabotage contacted him in the messenger and offered to commit arson for money.
At the trial, Uziallo pleaded partially guilty. According to him, he committed a crime for money, but did not know that it would pose a danger to the country's defense capability. He noted that the confession was taken from him under pressure.
FSB officers detained Uzyallo almost immediately after the sabotage.
On January 22, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that 184 sabotages on the railway had been committed in Russia since the beginning of its operation. 141 people were detained, including 59 teenagers. The representative of the department noted that in order to receive additional earnings, children from families with low material income without moral principles are ready to commit a crime.
