OREANDA-NEWS Eldar Abduraimov, a resident of Crimea, was sentenced to 16 years for recruiting into an underground movement. About this was informed by the press service of the court.

As the court found, in September 2022, Abduraimov in the city of Bakhchisarai "got acquainted with a video that contained calls to join the anti-Russian underground movement Atesh in order to carry out terrorist acts."

After that, he began distributing this recording among his acquaintances, whom he then allegedly persuaded to terrorist attacks in Crimea.

He was convicted under article 205.1 ("Assistance to terrorist activities") The Criminal Code OF the Russian Federation. The court sentenced him to 16 years in a high-security penal colony, serving the first two years in prison. He must also pay a fine of 100,000 rubles.
