OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian presidential election will last for three days — from March 15 to 17, head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova said.

"The draft resolution provides for voting in the presidential elections within three days — March 15, 16, 17, 2024," she said.

The CEC members adopted the resolution on the three-day format during a vote initiated by the head of the department.

Pamfilova noted that such a format is already becoming traditional for the Russian electoral system. She recalled that for the first time, three-day voting was used during the pandemic to ensure the safety of citizens.

The head of the Central Election Commission added that according to the results of the All-Russian vote, when the agency conducted its research, "it was already clear that the multi-day voting was supported by many voters

"And further, when we began to propose to use it in other elections, we clearly understood, we are sure, and this is confirmed by various sources, that the majority of voters liked this voting format," Pamfilova stressed.

The Central Election Commission is holding its first meeting today after the announcement of the date of the presidential election.
