OREANDA-NEWS  Russian President Vladimir Putin said he was not familiar with Donald Trump's specific proposals on the possibility of ending the conflict in Ukraine, but he takes them seriously.

"The fact that Mr. Trump, as a presidential candidate, declares that he is ready and wants to stop the war in Ukraine, we take this quite seriously," Putin told reporters on Thursday.

At the same time, the Russian president added that he was "not familiar, of course, with possible proposals" on exactly how Trump intends to do this.

Putin noted that Trump's specific proposals "are, of course, the key issue."

"I have no doubt that he says this sincerely, and we support it," the Russian president said.
