OREANDA-NEWS The patrol ship Viktor Veliky of project 22160 will be transferred to the Russian Navy in 2024. This was announced by the head of the Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation Renat Mistakhov to TASS.

"Everything is going according to plan, the ship will be delivered this year. The ship has already arrived [in the Baltic]. He is preparing to conduct all the necessary tests," the head of the corporation said.

Mistakhov added that factory and state tests of the ship will take place in the third and fourth quarters of 2024. According to him, the patrol ship can be used as a base for weapons.

The ships of Project 22160 are armed with an AK-176MA 76.2 mm caliber artillery system and heavy machine guns. They are also capable of carrying a container missile system with Kalibr missiles.

In July, a TASS source reported that the Viktor Veliky ship was delivered by inland waterways from Zelenodolsk to the Baltic Sea. According to him, the completion and testing of the ship will be carried out at the external delivery base of the Zelenodolsk Shipyard.
