The Russian Ministry of Justice announced a plan to check foreign agents

OREANDA-NEWS The Russian Ministry of Justice has included four people and three organizations included in the register of foreign agents in the inspection plan for 2024, according to a corresponding document published on the agency's website.
According to the information posted on the website, the list of scheduled inspections for 2024 includes video blogger Nikolai Sobolev, journalist Ekaterina Lushnikova, regional coordinator of the Golos movement (also included in the register of foreign agents) Sergey Piskunov and journalist Denis Konstantinov.
In addition, the agency intends to check the activities of the Kaliningrad public organization "Eco-protection!- Women's Council", ANO "Institute of Human Rights" and non-governmental educational institution "Academy of Human Rights".
It is assumed that the inspections will be carried out by the regional departments of the Ministry of Justice in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, Kaliningrad, Kemerovo, Kirov, Orel and Sverdlovsk regions.
The first foreign agents in Russia appeared in 2013. The law regulating the activities and duties of foreign agents, providing for a unified register for this category of citizens and legal entities, as well as liability for violations, entered into force in Russia on December 1, 2022. To date, 742 people and organizations are listed in the register of foreign agents.
