OREANDA-NEWS  In Lipetsk, a lawyer of the Moscow Region Law Chamber was arrested on charges of handing over a multimillion-dollar bribe to the police. 

The lawyer is charged with part 4 of Article 291.1 ("Mediation in bribery on a particularly large scale") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to investigators, on March 13, as an intermediary, he handed over about 90 million rubles to two employees of the criminal investigation department. The money was intended to ensure that the police refused to search for those responsible in a criminal case of theft of property of a financial and credit organization.

As a result, the police reported the received offer and, under the supervision of colleagues, went to a meeting with a lawyer. He was detained while handing over the bribe.
