The Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin will be checked for violation of sanctions

OREANDA-NEWS The German Prosecutor's Office initiated an inspection of the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin. The supervisory authority will assess the activities of the organization for violations of the law on sanctions. The work of the "Russian House" is provided by Rossotrudnichestvo.
"It will be checked whether the activities of the cultural center violate the law on foreign economic activity," the DPA agency quotes the words of a representative of the prosecutor's office (quoted by RIA Novosti).
According to the agency, the statement on which the investigation was initiated was submitted by the German deputy from the Green Party Volker Beck. He assumes that the organizers of the cultural center include an agency that is included in the sanctions lists.
Rossotrudnichestvo told RIA Novosti that the agency had not received official notifications about the prosecutor's inspection of the cultural center in Berlin.
On July 21, 2022, the European Union imposed the seventh package of sanctions against Russia after the start of the military operation in Ukraine. Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian World Foundation, in particular, were included in the sanctions list.
