The Russian Government has Allocated 5 Billion Rubles for the Treatment of Patients with COVID-19

OREANDA-NEWS. The government has allocated an additional 5 billion rubles for drugs to treat patients with COVID-19 in hospitals. This was announced on Tuesday, November 23, by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“In addition, almost 5 billion rubles have been allocated for the purchase of drugs for patients with COVID-19 who are being treated in hospitals. These include medicines unregistered in Russia, and some of them are especially needed by people who are seriously ill with the disease, ”he said at a meeting of the Presidium of the Coordination Council under the Government of the Russian Federation for the fight against coronavirus.
According to him, it is planned that consignments of such medicines will be delivered to medical institutions by the end of the year.
On October 28, Elena Khavkina, deputy head of the Moscow health department, said that in order to fight the coronavirus in Moscow, about 10.6 billion rubles would be allocated next year.
According to her, the allocated funds will be used both to support medical personnel providing assistance to patients with COVID-19 and to purchase modern medicines, as well as personal protective equipment and testing (1.5 billion rubles).
On October 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Ministry of Health to provide support to the regions with personnel and medicines. In addition, the Russian leader demanded to control the availability of medicines and oxygen in the regions for patients with COVID-19.
A large-scale vaccination has been taking place in the Russian Federation since January. Citizens are vaccinated free of charge and voluntarily. Five vaccines against coronavirus have been registered in the country: Sputnik V, which became the first vaccine against COVID-19 in the Russian Federation and the world, as well as Sputnik Light, EpiVacCorona, EpiVacCorona-N and KoviVak.
