OREANDA-NEWS The Russian Foreign Ministry demanded that the United States not interfere in Moscow's affairs. The transfer of the relevant note was announced by a source close to the leadership of the department, RIA Novosti writes.
"The American diplomatic mission continues malicious activity in the information space, allowing itself inappropriate statements about the leadership of the host country, as well as spreading fakes about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which refers to criminally punishable acts," the agency said.
In addition, a source close to the Foreign Ministry said that US diplomats were warned against attempts to conduct subversive work in Russia. It is clarified that potential participants in such activities will be expelled from the country, regardless of their positions.
In particular, the new US Ambassador to Moscow, Lynn Tracy, was handed copies of credentials and asked to strictly comply with Russian laws. In addition, the Russian side demanded to stop activities that run counter to Moscow's requirements and the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
"The Russian side does not intend to put up with the rabid anti—Russian propaganda replicated by the information resources of the US Embassy, and intends to use all available means to neutralize it," a source in the Foreign Ministry summed up.
Earlier, the US authorities imposed new anti-Russian sanctions. In particular, Washington has approved a ceiling on prices for petroleum products from Russia.
