OREANDA-NEWS  The armed forces of the Russian Federation have received another batch of 152-millimeter self-propelled howitzers "Malva", the press service of the Rostec state Corporation reported.

Rostec has shipped another batch of self-propelled artillery guns 2C43 "Malva" 152-mm caliber to the troops. This is the first domestic wheeled howitzer created on the chassis of bases with the formula 8x8. Its characteristic differences are a larger power reserve and lower cost of operation than tracked howitzers," the report says.

The Malva is designed to destroy command posts, defensive structures, artillery and missile batteries, air defense positions, columns of armored vehicles and enemy manpower. The howitzer has a "simultaneous fire raid" mode, when several projectiles fired along different trajectories and at different speeds reach the target simultaneously.

One of the advantages of the gun is increased maneuverability, as well as the speed of deployment and folding into position. In addition, the wheeled howitzer has easier maintenance compared to tracked self-propelled guns. The rate of fire is more than seven rounds per minute, the firing range is more than 24 kilometers, and the ammunition of the Malva has up to 30 rounds.

The dimensions of the installation allow it to be transported by military transport aircraft - it fits into the Il-76 cargo cabin and can be quickly delivered over long distances.

The self-propelled gun has a cabin reservation made of high-strength steel grades, which provides protection from small arms and fragments, Rostec added.
