OREANDA-NEWS  Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov has arrived in Azerbaijan on a working visit, where he will take part in the high-level plenary session of the 29th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), Interfax correspondent reports.

During the visit, Krasnov will also hold a number of bilateral meetings with foreign colleagues.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, this year the participation of the law enforcement community in the climate summit was organized by the Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in co-chairmanship with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the United Arab Emirates.

The purpose of the participation of representatives of the law enforcement community in CAP 29 is "to emphasize the importance of expanding the capacity of law enforcement agencies to combat crimes that affect the environment," the supervisory authority noted.
