OREANDA-NEWS  More than 1.3 thousand projects in the field of "Environmental protection and animal protection" were supported by the Presidential Grants Fund for six years of work, two billion rubles were allocated in total, the press service of the Presidential Grants Fund told RIA Novosti.

On Monday, June 5, World Environment Day is celebrated.

"Over the six years of operation, the Presidential Grants Fund has supported 1,324 projects in the field of Environmental protection and Animal Welfare. The total amount of allocated funds is 2 billion rubles," the report says.
It is noted that thanks to the supported initiatives, a system of separate garbage collection is being developed in the regions of Russia, actions are being held to green cities and clean rivers, eco-activists save animals, create voluntary communities to protect forests from fires, support the life of springs in small settlements.
