OREANDA-NEWS. The natural population decline in Russia amounted to 259.6 thousand people in January-October 2019, from the beginning of the year the population decreased by 43.7 thousand people to 146.7 million, according to the Federal State Statistics Service. According to the operational data on the natural population movement in the Russian Federation for January-October 2019, the natural decrease was 259.6 thousand people, which is 75.7 thousand more than in the same period in 2018. Then the decline amounted to 183.9 thousand people.

“According to estimates, the resident population of the Russian Federation as of October 1, 2019 amounted to 146.7 million people. Since the beginning of the year, the population has decreased by 43.7 thousand people, or 0.03%. Over the same period of the previous year, it decreased by 83.5 thousand people, or 0.06%, "said the Federal State Statistics Service.

Experts previously interviewed by the Russian media reported that the problem of population decline in the country cannot be solved due to the migration influx. According to demographers, the decline in the population in the country can be reversed only by increasing the birth rate - the birth of third children in Russian families.
