OREANDA-NEWS. Polish President Andrzej Duda accused Russia of aggressive actions and violation of international law. He said this during a visit to the EU observer mission in Georgia, PAP news agency reports.
"Russia is not a normal country, it is not a country that behaves normally; it is an aggressor state," he said. According to the Polish president, Russia's actions " lead to the destruction of states, lead to a situation of war, when people are killed or injured."
According to the President, if the Russian side had respected international law, "such situations as the creation of this territory occupied by Russia, which is called the Tskhinvali region, would never have happened."
Duda called for " decisive action on the part of the international community." Next year, he said, Poland will assume the OSCE chairmanship. "We will talk about these issues, we will raise them at the UN General Assembly or at the UN Human Rights Council," the head of state promised.
In April, Poland already accused Russia of an aggressive policy. The reason for this was the expulsion of Polish diplomats from Moscow. Thus, the Russian authorities responded to the expulsion of three of their diplomats from Poland in support of US sanctions.
"The decision of the Russian side is another example of an aggressive policy and a conscious gesture aimed at aggravating relations with its neighbors and the entire international community," the Polish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
