The owner of the Russian sauna will be convicted of poisoning guests with chlorine

OREANDA-NEWS In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, investigators have completed the investigation of a criminal case against the owner of a sauna in Minusinsk, in which guests were poisoned with chlorine. About this "Tape.<url>" reported in the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
The man is being charged under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life or health of consumers"). His case will be sent to the prosecutor's office for approval of the indictment and subsequent transfer to the court for consideration on the merits. The defendant admitted his guilt.
The sauna has been operating since 2016. According to investigators, the businessman did not control the quality of the water in the pool, and also did not conduct bacteriological and parasitological analyses and staff training. On the night of April 21, a company of 13 people rested in the sauna. On the afternoon of April 21 and 22, five people aged 18 to 27, as well as two teenagers aged 15 and 17, went to the hospital complaining of mild general weakness, malaise, sore throat and nose, shortness of breath.
Doctors diagnosed the victims with chlorine poisoning. According to the act of epidemiological investigation, the cause of poisoning was a high concentration of free chlorine in the sauna air, which appeared in it from the pool water due to poor ventilation of the room.
Earlier it was reported that the sauna is called "Vegas" and it was temporarily closed due to this incident.
