OREANDA-NEWS  By the beginning of December 2024, the number of self-employed citizens registered in Russia exceeded the mark of 12 million people. This is reported on the website of the Federal Tax Service (FTS).

During the period of the special regime, accrued taxes exceeded the level of 219 billion rubles, the department noted. In turn, the total income of the registered self-employed during this period turned out to be more than 5.2 trillion rubles.

The Federal Tax Service added that the average age of the self-employed in Russia is now 36 years old. At the same time, the youngest of them turned 14, and the oldest was 84 years old. At the same time, half of the self-employed in the Russian Federation had not previously declared their own income. "50 percent of the self—employed are new people in the legal field," the department concluded.

Earlier, representatives of the Federal Tax Service reported that most of the self-employed in Russia are involved in the field of repair work. According to the ministry, a total of more than 807 thousand such citizens work in this field. The automotive industry (700 thousand people) and the IT sector (496 thousand) also entered the top 3 most in-demand specialties for the self-employed in the Russian Federation.
