OREANDA-NEWS  More than 50 people were taken to the central district hospital of Kotelnikovo, Volgograd region, after the derailment of a passenger train near Volgograd, the Federal Agency for Railway Transport (Roszheldor) reports in its telegram channel.

"55 people were hospitalized in the Central Hospital of Kotelnikovo," the message says.

According to Roszheldor, as a result of the accident, the size of the adjacent track was violated.

The delivery of 200 liters of drinking water for the victims has been organized.

The guard of the fire train and the shooting team of the Departmental Guard of Roszheldor arrived at the place of the derailment of the wagons.

In turn, the press service of the Volgograd Region administration reported, with reference to the governor of the region Andrei Bocharov, an increase in the number of seriously injured to three.

"30 people are undergoing an in-depth medical examination. Three of them are in serious condition," Bocharov said.

Earlier, in the reception room of the central district hospital of Kotelnikovo, Interfax was informed about the hospitalization of 30 victims as a result of an emergency.

On Monday at 12:35 Moscow time, in the area of the Gremyachaya - Kotelnikovo stage in the Volgograd region, passenger train No. 491 Kazan - Adler collided with a truck, as a result, nine wagons and an electric locomotive derailed. Train traffic on the section has been suspended.

Five trains were delayed after the incident with the derailment of wagons, the emergency services told Interfax. According to them, there was a derailment of nine cars of the Kazan - Adler train, in which there were 422 people, 42 of them children. Russian Railways sends passenger trains with changed routes after the derailment of wagons in the Volgograd region. The commuter train schedule has been changed for July 29 and 30.

An emergency recovery train has been sent to the scene of the accident.

As a result of the incident, about 140 passengers received abrasions and bruises. The truck driver and the passenger of the train are in serious condition. About 340 people were evacuated to the PVR.

The head of the Kotelnikovsky district, Sergey Pankratov, reported that water supply and delivery of passengers to temporary accommodation facilities were organized for evacuated passengers.

According to the governor of the Volgograd region Andrey Bocharov, there were about 800 people on the train, the total train consisted of 20 cars.

A reserve train will take passengers to their destination.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact of the incident under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic safety rules and operation of railway transport).
