OREANDA-NEWS  The natural population decline in Russia in January-April of 2024, according to Rosstat, was 226,154 people. This is an increase of 20% compared to the same period in 2023. During this time, the number of children born decreased by 6.9% and the number of deaths increased by 4.3%. 

The population of Russia as of January 1, 2024 was estimated at 146 150.8 thousand people. Rosstat estimates the population "without taking into account statistical information on the Donetsk People's Republic, Luhansk People's Republic, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions."
