OREANDA-NEWS  The mother of Russian serviceman Igor Shchegolevaty, for whose life the Ukrainian side demands a ransom from the family, told RIA Novosti that she calls on international organizations to help bring her son home.
The half-brother of the prisoner Igor Shchegolevaty, Alexander Serikov, previously told the agency that 1 million rubles were demanded for the life of Shchegolevaty, threatening otherwise to torture and kill him. An audio recording of a telephone conversation with threats is available to RIA Novosti.

"We ask that international organizations help us find our son, who is in Ukrainian captivity, so that he is not bullied, killed, treated like a human being and returned home as soon as possible," said Elena Serikova, the mother of the prisoner of war.

This is not the first case of extortion by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Earlier, the parents of the captured Russian serviceman Nikolai Shepilov told RIA Novosti that the APU also extorted money from them, threatening to kill their son. Shepilov's parents appealed to international organizations to protect him and help him return home.
