OREANDA-NEWS  The drug for the treatment of COVID-19 "Mir 19", developed by the Federal Biomedical Agency, will appear in pharmacies by the end of May, it will also be effective against the variant of the coronavirus "Arcturus", the press service of the FMBA told RIA Novosti.

"Changes were made to the dossier on the drug MIR 19 regarding the conditions of leave, namely, the possibility of releasing the drug by prescription appeared, that is, the use of the drug MIR 19 was allowed during outpatient treatment of the patient. The drug will appear in a number of pharmacies by the end of May this year," the report says.

It is noted that the new sub-strain "arcturus" will not affect the effectiveness of the drug, since its action is directed at a highly conservative section of the coronavirus gene.

Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, reported that Arcturus has a great contagiousness and is able to bypass the formed immunity, because of it, a surge in morbidity in Russia is possible by the end of May.
