OREANDA-NEWS  The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Russia has decided to increase the quota for attracting qualified foreign workers who come to Russia on a visa in 2025. This was reported by RBC with reference to the draft government decree.

According to this document, the quota will be 234.9 thousand people. This year, this figure was estimated at 155.9 thousand, and in 2023 — 124 thousand.

The authors of the resolution point out that the country needs foreign labor for several reasons. Among them, there is a shortage of personnel in the regions, the use of imported equipment, which should be set up and serviced by foreign specialists, and so on.

Next year, large and small industrial enterprises will need skilled workers the most, which will receive a quota of 74 thousand people. In addition, 43 thousand people will be allowed to be involved in mining, capital mining, construction, installation and repair and construction works. For operators, apparatchiks, machinists and fitters-assemblers of stationary equipment, we are talking about 29 thousand. In addition, workers in the metalworking and machine-building industries are among the most in-demand specialties.

Earlier, Andrey Kladov, director of the Migrant Service platform, suggested that wages in Russia will continue to rise due to the fact that migrant workers are leaving Russia. It is possible that the salaries of couriers, workers, drivers and builders will increase especially noticeably.
