OREANDA-NEWS  A new model of voluntary social insurance in case of temporary disability has been presented for public discussion. It will allow self-employed citizens to be covered by voluntary insurance. Now it is available only to individual entrepreneurs, lawyers, notaries. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Labor of Russia.

It is assumed that the new model of voluntary social insurance will work from July 1, 2023. The insurer will be the Social Fund of Russia.

"The new model provides for the choice of the insurance amount - that is, in fact, the citizen himself determines what amount of payments in case of illness he would like to receive and, based on this, pays insurance premiums," explained Anton Kotyakov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation.

The amount of the monthly contribution will be 1,247.38 rubles per month if a citizen has chosen an insured amount equal to 2 minimum wage, and 1,871 rubles if an amount equal to 3 minimum wage is selected.
