OREANDA-NEWS The Russian Ministry of Justice has developed a draft order on the provision of palliative care to convicts in institutions of the penal system, the ministry reports on its website.
"According to the draft order, in the presence of testimonies for convicts and persons detained in custody, the medical organizations of the penitentiary system organize the provision of palliative care," the statement said.
If the measure of restraint is changed, including in connection with the disease, and if they need to continue treatment or provide palliative care, a medical professional will be issued with a referral to a medical organization. It is envisaged that medical organizations ensure continuity in the provision of necessary medical care for these individuals, the Ministry of Justice clarifies.
