The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Told Why They Insist on Voluntary Vaccination
OREANDA-NEWS. Vaccination against coronavirus should be voluntary, and the trust of every patient in vaccines should be the key. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Health of Russia Sergei Glagolev.
Earlier, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said that the Russian authorities today proceed from the voluntariness of vaccinations, but sometimes, in the state interests of protecting the overwhelming majority of the population, such decisions may be binding. But here, according to him, lawyers will have to give their answers.
Glagolev said during a speech at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum: "We are firmly committed to the position that immunization should be voluntary. The key to achieving population immunity is the trust of each patient in the vaccine and the vaccination system."
He noted that vaccination is available to all Russians as soon as possible.
Vaccination against coronavirus is carried out in all regions of the Russian Federation. In August 2020, the Ministry of Health of Russia registered the world's first vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19, developed by the Gamaleya Research Center for Electrochemistry. It was named "Sputnik V". Also in Russia, vaccines against COVID-19 have been created - "EpiVacCorona" from the "Vector" center of Rospotrebnadzor and "KoviVak", developed by the Chumakov Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
