OREANDA-NEWS The Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation has developed a draft amendment to the law on specially protected natural territories (PAs) and to the law on tourism activities, defining the concept of "ecological tourism". This was reported on Thursday by the press service of the Ministry of Environment.

"The Government of the Russian Federation is charged with approving an action plan aimed at encouraging business participation in the development of ecological tourism in specially protected natural territories, including the establishment of criteria for ecological tourism and recreational facilities, the construction of which is allowed in such territories. Therefore, Only to introduce the concept of "ecological tourism", but also to develop its criteria, "the ministry said.

In accordance with Article 7 of the Federal Law "On Specially Protected Natural Territories", one of the tasks entrusted to the reserve is environmental education and the development of educational tourism, explained in the Ministry of Environment.
