The Ministry of Education and Science will Discuss with the Rectors the Admission to Universities of Only Vaccinated Students
OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation will discuss with the Russian Union of Rectors the possibility of admitting students vaccinated against coronavirus from September 1 to face-to-face classes, said the head of the department Valery Falkov.
Earlier, the Council of Rectors of Universities of Moscow and the Moscow Region announced that it was considering the possibility of admitting only vaccinated students and those students who have certificates of the presence of antibodies or a medical outlet to full-time classes in the capital's universities, and for all others to provide classes in an online format.
"In particular, quite recently - on June 16 - the Council of Rectors of Universities of Moscow and the Moscow Region came up with an initiative to start the work of universities in a mixed format starting from September 1, 2021, linking full-time education with preventive measures. Next week we will discuss this proposal in detail on the site Of the Russian Union of Rectors, together with the entire rectors' community of Russia, "Falkov said during a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and members of the government.
The minister also added that he appealed to the rectors of all universities in Russia, to teachers and staff, to students with a request to maximize the speedy return to a normal rhythm of life and study.
"It equally depends on all of us, on our common position and common efforts," Falkov noted.
The minister added that the ministry, together with the Russian Union of Rectors and other large associations of heads of universities, is working on the specifics of organizing the work of universities in the new academic year.
