According to the military, tactical aviation and missile forces attacked the areas of concentration and reserves of nine brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of nine settlements in the Sumy region.
The North group of troops in the Kursk direction repelled six new counterattacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and continued offensive operations, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The units of the North group of forces continued conducting offensive operations, during which they defeated the formations of the 22nd, 41st, 47th and 115th mechanized, 17th tank, 82nd and 95th airborne assault brigades, the 36th Marine Brigade, and Also, the 103rd and 129th brigades of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Lyubimovka, Malaya Loknya, Novy Put, Novoivanovka and Plekhovo," the ministry said in a statement.
According to him, over the past day, the units of the group have reflected six counterattacks of the Ukrainian army in the direction of the settlements of Zeleny Shlyakh, Lyubimovka, Tolstoy Meadow, Nizhny Klin and Russian Konopelka.
As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 40 people killed and wounded, four tanks, a Swedish-made CV-90 infantry fighting vehicle and an armored combat vehicle were destroyed. Six servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine surrendered, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.
In total, the losses of the Ukrainian army during the day in the Kursk direction amounted to more than 250 servicemen, during the entire period of hostilities there, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost over 23.8 thousand people, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.
