OREANDA-NEWS  The amount of claims under the claims of the Russian Ministry of Defense against the Military Construction Company (VSK) has exceeded 13.8 billion rubles since the beginning of the year. Thus, the amount for ten months turned out to be 34 times more than for the whole of 2023, TASS reports.

In August, 73 lawsuits were filed in the amount of 1.863 billion rubles, in September — 38 lawsuits for 2.9 billion rubles, and in October — five lawsuits for 22.1 million rubles. In the period from January to July, the military department demanded 9.03 billion rubles.

In 2023, the total amount of claims amounted to 441.3 million rubles. The number of requests began to grow in May of this year.

One of the largest claims is related to the overestimation of the cost of work under the contract, which was revealed by the Accounting Chamber. At that time, the VSK was headed by Andrey Belkov. In July, he was arrested in a case of abuse of authority during the execution of a state defense order for the supply, installation and commissioning of a tomograph during the reconstruction of the 9th medical diagnostic center of the Ministry of Defense in Moscow.

The Military Construction Company includes enterprises and organizations that perform tasks in the interests of the Russian Armed Forces throughout its territory. The company is managed by the Department of Construction of the Ministry of Defense and the federal state enterprise "Management of the customer of capital construction of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation".
