OREANDA-NEWS In Russia, there are prerequisites for reducing housing commissioning, Irek Fayzullin, head of the Ministry of Construction, said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

He noted that the commissioning of housing this year is slightly higher than the figure for the same period last year.

"But we do not flatter ourselves that we will always act so effectively. There are also prerequisites for a decrease," the minister said, specifying that these include, in particular, changes in the part of preferential mortgages.

Fayzullin noted that currently almost 115 million square meters of housing or almost 2.5 million apartments are being built in the country. At the same time, the urban development potential is approaching 500 million "squares," he added.
