The Mayor Proposed to Create "COVID-free" Zones in Moscow Restaurants
OREANDA-NEWS. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin suggested that Moscow entrepreneurs create "coronavirus-free zones" in restaurants.
On Wednesday, Sobyanin held a meeting with entrepreneurs at Biznes.Tehnograd at VDNKh.
"Make a COVID-free zone in your restaurant, where people with vaccinations are located," Sobyanin said, addressing entrepreneurs.
He noted that when Moscow lost half of its tourists in a year, mainly foreigners, it became a serious problem for the service sector, trade, and catering.
"So that in the future there are no restrictions, we need to protect ourselves, for this we have everything," Sobyanin added.
During the meeting, the entrepreneurs suggested that the mayor reduce control and supervisory activities, namely, not to fine immediately, but to carry out preventive measures and warnings, and only then issue a fine. Sobyanin noted that he would discuss this with the relevant departments.
In addition, the entrepreneurs expressed the idea to conduct an inspection of anti-COVID measures. "It's a very good idea, let's go through these measures with the Department of Entrepreneurship ... We will revise these measures," Sobyanin replied.
Earlier, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, on the air of the Russia 1 TV channel, expressed the opinion that Moscow coped with the COVID-19 pandemic better than other cities in the world.
