"The situation with the coronavirus in Moscow remains extremely difficult. Over the past week, we have broken new records in the number of hospitalizations, people in intensive care, as well as the number of deaths from coronavirus," he said.

The mayor added that this is why the city authorities imposed restrictions related to vaccinations and access to restaurants and cafes only for those who were vaccinated, recovered and those who had a negative PCR test.

According to him, as a result of these measures, the number of vaccination records increased to 86 thousand on weekdays, which "is a good indicator."

"I repeat once again that we are dealing with a new and more infectious strain, very lethal. I ask everyone to take care of themselves and get vaccinated at the first opportunity," Sobyanin emphasized.

From that day on, new rules for the operation of catering establishments entered into force in Moscow. Now restaurants and cafes can be visited only after presenting a QR code confirming that the client was vaccinated no more than six months ago or had been ill with COVID-19 over the same period. Citizens who have a negative PCR test valid for three days can also do this. The staff of these institutions must be fully vaccinated.
