The Lancet Calls on Developers of Russian Coronavirus Vaccine to Answer Questions
OREANDA-NEWS. The international scientific journal Lancet turned to Russian scientists who published a study on the Russian vaccine against coronavirus, with a proposal to answer the questions of colleagues who doubted the results of the research.
An article by Russian scientists on the results of two stages of clinical trials of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V was published in The Lancet on September 4. After that, a group of scientists from different countries, including Italy, the United States and the United Kingdom, posted a letter on the Italian site Cattivi Scienziati, dedicated to exposing pseudoscientific research, asking questions about the Russian vaccine. The letter was written by Enrico Bucci, a scientist from the Temple University (USA).
Deputy Director for Research at the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, Denis Logunov, said that he categorically rejects accusations of inaccurate statistics published in The Lancet. “We presented exact data that we received, and not those that should be liked by Italian experts,” he said.
