The Kremlin Told Why Some Countries are Trying to Make Russia a "Threat"
OREANDA-NEWS. Some countries are trying to create an ephemeral threat in the face of Russia in order to justify their unfriendly actions. So the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said.
"Any reasoning now that Russia is a threat, this threat must be answered and so on, are nothing more than attempts to create some kind of ephemeral threat in order to justify their unfriendly actions with it," said Peskov to journalists.
A spokesman for the Russian president said Russia always responded when threatened, but never posed a threat to anyone on its own. "Russia really does not threaten anyone, you know that during, probably, the last hundred years there have been many situations when Russia was threatened, then Russia responded, but Russia itself never posed a threat to anyone," Peskov told reporters.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the United States and its NATO allies are deliberately turning Ukraine into a "powder keg" by increasing military aid to Kiev.
"The supplies went on, they continue. The volume of this aid is increasing. The United States and other NATO countries are deliberately turning Ukraine into a" powder keg, "he told reporters.
He noted that for many years on the territory of Ukraine "training events have been taking place with the participation of advisers, instructors, dozens and hundreds of those working at different training grounds, facilities are being created that have a direct and negative relationship to Russia's security." A network of biological laboratories is being deployed in the post-Soviet space, he added.
