The Kremlin Said That They will Not Tolerate the Behavior of the Czech Republic Towards Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. Russia will not tolerate "what is being done in the Czech Republic" and Bulgaria, which has joined it, as well as - out of solidarity - the Baltic countries and other states. This statement was made by the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
Dmitry Peskov said on the Russian First Channel: "We will not tolerate this, and we no longer tolerate this. We clearly demonstrate this."
Prague in mid-April accused Moscow of alleged involvement in an explosion at an ammunition depot in Vrbetica in 2014. For this reason, the Czech Republic expelled from the country 18 employees of the Russian embassy. In response, Moscow declared 20 employees of the Czech diplomatic mission persona non grata and called the accusations of the incident absurd, unfounded and far-fetched.
Later, the Bulgarian prosecutor's office reported that six Russians may be involved in the explosions at factories and military warehouses in 2011, 2015 and 2020. According to the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergei Lavrov, Sofia decided to surpass the Czech Republic with such statements.
The expulsion of Russian diplomats was also announced by the United States, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Moscow is responding to these diplomatic actions in a mirror-like manner.
In some cases, such measures became part of the sanctions policy, in others, accusations of espionage were heard. The departments also referred to the Vienna Convention, which allows not to name the reason for such decisions.
