OREANDA-NEWS. The pace of vaccination against coronavirus in Russia leaves much to be desired, and one of the reasons is the insufficiently active campaign to motivate Russians to get vaccinated, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.

"Of course, despite the complete readiness of the entire infrastructure and despite the provided opportunities, the rate of vaccination leaves much to be desired. Taking this opportunity, we once again urge everyone to be vaccinated, because this is the only way to protect their lives in the face of the ongoing pandemic," Dmitry Peskov said. In his opinion, "insufficiently active campaign to explain the lack of alternatives to vaccinations has led to the current rate of vaccination."

The head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Murashko, previously reported that in Russia about 40 million people were vaccinated with two components of the vaccine, and more than 49 million with one component.

The number of cases of COVID-19 in Russia has increased by 25,781, the operational headquarters to combat the spread of coronavirus told reporters.

Most of them are in Moscow - 4410, St. Petersburg - 2198, Moscow region - 1733; the least in the Magadan region - 17, in Chukotka - 16, in the Nenets district - 11.

Among those infected, 2034 had no symptoms. 883 people became victims of the infection, 14 526 were discharged.

The number of cases over 25 thousand is recorded for the third day in a row. The day before, 25,769 patients were reported. The growth rate is 0.34%.
