OREANDA-NEWS. The Kremlin is extremely negative about the list of new possible sanctions against Russia presented by the United States. This was announced to journalists on January 13 by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
According to him, the fact that the American side makes such statements during the negotiation process with Russia is an attempt to put pressure on Moscow. Such sanctions can be equated with an initiative to break off relations, the Kremlin spokesman emphasized.
“Therefore, we are extremely negative, they do not contribute to the further search for mutually beneficial solutions, do not contribute to the formation of a constructive atmosphere during the continuation of these three-stage negotiations. Today will be the third stage, ending at this stage. Therefore, the answer is unequivocal: negative,” he said.
Peskov noted that the Russian side has no plans to respond to the sanctions. He expressed the hope that such threats from the United States are only loud statements in order to influence Moscow.
“Moscow has no plans to respond yet, because we still want to hope that at least some common sense will prevail and we want to hope that these are only loud statements and such “rattling” is a beautiful word in Russian in order to try as something to influence our country,” the spokesman said.
