As Dmitry Peskov told reporters, answering a question about whether the Kremlin has an understanding of what is really happening in Donbass: “We have a Defense Ministry and special services that have the ability to assess the situation near our borders, this is the first thing. And the presidential administration does not belong to the category of these departments, we do not have the ability to assess the situation. Nevertheless, we receive information that tensions have significantly increased on the contact line over the past month. Any increase in tension in such a hot place is, of course, potentially various provocations and, given the aggressive position of the Ukrainian armed forces, of course, we are concerned. "

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, referring to the journalists, added that in this case a great responsibility lies with the media. He recalled that earlier cases were mentioned when the media published messages that were incorrect in essence, which were later refuted by people from the self-proclaimed republics. He stressed that one should be very careful in this matter and double-check the information ten times, given the extreme tension on the contact line.

Also, the press secretary of the head of the Russian state, Dmitry Peskov, said that Moscow had not received any initiatives on a meeting in the "Normandy" format, contacts between the presidents of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky, are not yet planned.
