The Kremlin Answered the Question about Navalny's Hunger Strike
OREANDA-NEWS. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, in response to a request to comment on the hunger strike of Alexei Navalny, said that such special cases in correctional institutions are a subject of consideration by the Federal Penitentiary Service.
Peskov told reporters when asked if the Kremlin had any comment on Navalny's hunger strike that he had no comment on this.
“We have human rights organizations, we have public organizations that monitor the state of affairs in the FSIN institutions. They formulate questions, formulate proposals and, in contact with the authorities, they are engaged in negotiating these proposals, which they formulate. All special cases are subject to consideration with the parties of the FSIN and the relevant divisions are in no way an object for our comments, "he added.
On March 31, Navalny announced on his Instagram that he had gone on a hunger strike "demanding that the invited doctor be allowed in." Navalny's lawyer Olga Mikhailova, after visiting him in the colony, told RIA Novosti that her client had pain in his leg and back. According to the results of the survey, the FSIN called Navalny's health condition satisfactory and stable.
