When asked to comment on the events, the Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that this was "an internal affair of Armenia." The department did not add any details to what was said.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia on Thursday demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and warned him against using force against his people. Pashinyan said that after the demands of the armed forces about his resignation, he dismissed the head of the General Staff Onik Gasparyan. A day earlier, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, at Pashinyan's suggestion, fired First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Tiran Khachatrian, who, according to media reports, ridiculed the words of the head of government about the Iskander complexes.
