OREANDA-NEWS  Achieving the global competitiveness of Russian CAD/SAE systems requires the partnership of IT developers, including private IT structures with large state-owned companies, according to participants of the III Conference on Mathematical Modeling held at VDNH.

The conference is held under the auspices of the Rosatom State Corporation with the participation of representatives of the Russian IT market, industrial companies, government agencies and universities. This year, more than 600 participants of the conference discussed the topic "Cooperation between the state, industry, developers and universities for the effective implementation of domestic CAE technologies in high-tech industries" in person and online.

According to Ekaterina Solntseva, Director of digitalization at Rosatom, the departure of foreign vendors has not removed the issue of competition between domestic and foreign SAE systems from the agenda, since Russian users have experience using foreign matmodeling products and compare it with the practice of using domestic software.

"This is a challenge for us. At the start of import substitution, we said that we wanted not just to replace foreign products with Russian ones, but to work together to make products better than those that we could receive from foreign manufacturers. Did it work out? Not yet. We are moving in the right direction, but slower than we would like," Rosatom quoted her as saying.

Solntseva considers insufficient activity in the development of the national SAE platform, which is designed to unite developers, to be one of the reasons.

"Already, such a solution combined on a national platform will cover up to 85% of the declared functionality of world leaders. Large–scale cooperation is not an easy task, but overcoming the difficulties, we will gain a competitive advantage that does not exist on the world market. By combining mathematical modeling products from different companies on one platform, we open up the possibility for engineers to carry out multiphysical calculations that will allow them to create industrial products taking into account more different calculation models, which means that we will ensure quality improvement not only of industrial software, but also of industrial products themselves," Solntseva explained.
