OREANDA-NEWS  The Indian Foreign Ministry summoned the ambassador of Ukraine because of the words of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is reported by The Economic Times newspaper.

The demarche of the Indian side was caused by a remark by Zelensky, who called Modi's visit to Russia "a crushing blow to peace efforts," the newspaper notes.

"It is depressing to see the leader of the world's largest democracy hugging the most famous criminal in the world in Moscow," Zelensky commented on the meeting between Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

It is noted that New Delhi also postponed the meeting of the joint Indian-Ukrainian working group on the development of cultural ties.

Earlier, Bloomberg wrote that Modi's embrace with Putin on the eve of the NATO summit upset American officials.
