The Incidence of Tuberculosis and HIV in Russia Decreased in 2018
OREANDA-NEWS More than 61.5 thousand people in Russia fell ill with tuberculosis in 2018, the figure fell by 7.7% compared to 2017. This was reported in the statistical materials on infectious diseases in the Russian Federation, published on Friday on the website of the Department.
It follows from the data that in January-December 2018, tuberculosis in active forms was detected in 61544 people. During the same period in 2017, 66568 people were infected with tuberculosis. At the same time, among children under 17 and up to 14 years, the incidence rates for the year decreased by 14.6% and 14.5%, respectively (2873 against 3293 people in 2017 and 2106 against 2406 people, respectively).
The specialists registered more than 86.5 thousand new HIV infections in Russia in 2018. The indicator decreased by 2.5% compared to 2017, reported on Friday on the website of Rospotrebnadzor.
From the statistical materials on infectious diseases in the Russian Federation, it follows that in January-December 2018, 86,519 people with HIV were registered, compared to 88,615 in 2017. Among children under 17 and up to 14 years, the rate decreased significantly-by 11.7% and 10.8%, respectively (941 against 1044 and 699 against 766). According to the Ministry of health of Russia, at the moment the Federal register contains data on 714 thousand 67 Russians diagnosed with HIV infection.

Earlier was reported that on the end of January in North Ossetia, the epidemiological threshold for influenza and Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) has been exceeded. The office of Rospotrebnadzor for North Ossetia reports that the epidemic threshold is exceeded by 13%. Most of the cases — students and pupils of kindergartens.
