OREANDA-NEWS  FSUE Rosmorport plans to strengthen the icebreaking fleet of its Caspian branch during the navigation period 2024-2025 in order to ensure the unhindered movement of ships in the seaports of Astrakhan and Olya, which are part of the North-South ITC, this is reported on the website of the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport.

So, in addition to the three icebreakers providing ship wiring, the icebreaker "Captain Zarubin" follows to Astrakhan.

According to the agency, the largest ship turnover for large-tonnage vessels falls on the seaports of the Gulf of Finland, therefore, it is planned to concentrate the most powerful grouping of the icebreaker fleet in the Baltic Sea.

To ensure icebreaking of ships to the Russian ports of the Gulf of Finland, it is planned to use 10 icebreakers, of which 5 are port and 5 are linear, as well as one reserve.
