OREANDA-NEWS Oleg Lopatiev, head of the Radio Engineering Service of the General Staff of the Russian Navy, is accused of receiving a bribe of 8 million rubles from a representative of one of the companies, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (TFR) reported.

"The military investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia are investigating a criminal case against Oleg Lopatiev, head of the Radio Engineering Service of the General Staff of the Russian Navy. He is accused of taking a particularly large bribe (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," reads a message posted on Thursday on the TFR telegram channel.

According to the agency, in 2024, the Russian Ministry of Defense, in fulfilling the state defense order, "concluded government contracts with Izumrud JSC for the supply of technical devices totaling more than 400 million rubles."

"Quality control and technical acceptance of the products supplied by the specified enterprise were entrusted to Lopatiev. In March 2025, Lopatiev received a particularly large bribe from the General director of Izumrud JSC, Stanislav Medvedev, totaling over 8 million rubles for general patronage and connivance in the company's implementation of a contract concluded with the military department as part of a defense order," the report says.

The TFR added that at the request of the military investigator, the court sent Lopatiev into custody.
