OREANDA-NEWS Finland has become the happiest country in the world for the seventh time in a row. This is the conclusion reached by the authors of the "World Happiness Report".
Russia was ranked only in 72nd place, and Ukraine in 105th. Along with Finland, sociologists recognized Denmark and Iceland as the happiest countries, they took second and third place, respectively.
The top ten happiest countries also included Sweden, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Australia. This list, according to the authors, has remained almost unchanged since the pandemic. Afghanistan was named the most unhappy country, with Lebanon, Lesotho, Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of the Congo next to it.
The authors of the report use six key factors to determine the level of happiness in different countries: social support, income, health, freedom, generosity and lack of corruption. According to sociologists, states often listen to the results of research in order to adjust social policy. The publication of the report is timed to coincide with the International Day of Happiness, which is celebrated on March 20. The World Happiness Report has been published every year since 2012.
