OREANDA-NEWS In the village of Repino near St. Petersburg, the Gulf of Finland turned an unusual color. The water has acquired a bright green hue, writes the Telegram channel "Peter Live".
Photos provided by eyewitnesses show a bay with acid-green water near the shore. According to experts, this color is not associated with pollution. The reason for the greening of the water is algae, which have developed massively due to the heat.
Earlier, the Volga River in the Verkhneuslonsky district of Tatarstan turned a poisonous color. The footage shows that the water near the shore is colored green, and foam is also present on the surface. The situation was also explained by algae blooms.
Before that, the Chertanovka River in the Bitsevsky Forest in the south-west of Moscow acquired a similar shade. Against the background of the surrounding trees and an unpolluted area of water, it seemed as if the reservoir was glowing.
