OREANDA-NEWS  Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko received the Chairman of the People's Assembly of the Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina), who is in Moscow on a working visit Nenad Stevandic, the Russian side pointed out the need for the early abolition of the neocolonial regime of the external protectorate over independent Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"A thorough exchange of views took place on the agenda of bilateral relations between Russia and the Republika Srpska, the mutual desire for their further improvement, building up political dialogue, expanding cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields was emphasized," the ministry said in a statement following the meeting.
According to the Ministry, the coincidence of approaches to topical international issues was noted, and the readiness to jointly contribute to strengthening peace, stability and security in the Balkans was indicated.

"The Russian side emphasized its principled support for the General Framework (Dayton) Peace Agreement in Bosnia and Herzegovina of 1995, its principles of equality of three state-forming peoples and two entities with broad constitutional powers, and pointed to the need for the early abolition of the neocolonial regime of the external protectorate over independent Bosnia and Herzegovina," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
