The Foreign Ministry Responded to the Words of the President of Poland about the "Abnormality" of Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova, commenting on the statement by Polish President Andrzej Duda about Russia's "abnormality", recalled the actions of Polish soldiers in Iraq against peaceful Iraqis and even comrades in arms.
Duda, during an official visit to Georgia on Wednesday, called Russia "an aggressor country" and "an abnormal country." According to him, "this is not a state that behaves normally."
In response, Zakharova gave an example of "normalcy" in Polish.
"After the start of the US-NATO war against this country, Iraq was divided into four military zones. One zone was transferred under the command of the Polish contingent. Polish garrisons were deployed in Iraq. The total number of Polish troops in this country from 2003 to 2005 was about 1,700 troops, later it was increased, as far as I remember, up to 2400 ", - she wrote on Facebook.
Zakharova recalled that Polish soldiers had been killing not only Iraqis, but also comrades in arms in Iraq for several years.
"How many Iraqi civilians have been killed has not yet been counted. Human rights organizations believe that hundreds of thousands. And how many of them were killed by Polish soldiers from a" normal "country?" - summed up the representative of the Russian diplomatic service.
The press secretary of Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov considers the rhetoric of the Polish president unacceptable, according to the TV channel "Russia 24". Russia is a friendly country, the Kremlin spokesman said. She has qualities such as strength, confidence and independence. With this, the Russian side is looking for friendly relations, as well as mutually beneficial cooperation, including with Poland.
