OREANDA-NEWS  Firefighters have localized the ignition of dry vegetation in Koktebel (Feodosia, Republic of Crimea) on an area of 40 hectares, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported on Tuesday.

"The fire in Koktebel is localized on 40 hectares," the ministry said in a statement posted on the telegram channel.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on the ignition of dry vegetation in Koktebel on Blok Street the day before. Initially, the fire area was 2 hectares, later it increased to 30 hectares.

To eliminate the fire on Tuesday, 171 rescuers and more than 50 fighters of the Simferopol regiment of the Russian Guard, 25 pieces of equipment and Mi-8 helicopters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Rosgvardiya were involved. The Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified that the extinguishing was complicated by hot weather and gusty winds. The Karadag Nature Reserve is located near the fire site.
